WEBVTT 00:26.180 --> 00:28.040 Welcome to Inquisition Update. 00:28.300 --> 00:31.060 My name's Tom Friess, and I'll be your host for the next hour. 00:31.340 --> 00:33.980 You're listening to FirstAmendmentRadio .com. 00:34.060 --> 00:35.140 Thanks for tuning in. 00:35.660 --> 00:39.620 And so we'll begin on that basis where we left off. 00:40.340 --> 00:44.500 In the book, A Woman Rides the Beast by Dave Hunt. 00:45.100 --> 00:49.160 And this chapter is entitled, Fraud and Fabricated History. 00:49.160 --> 00:56.780 And under the subtitle, Shameless Revision of History, Dave Hunt writes, Such was the 00:56.780 --> 01:02.240 ambition of most of those who were scrambling on to the alleged throne of 01:02.240 --> 01:06.260 Peter, and at times warring with one another to gain it. 01:07.260 --> 01:14.280 Using the name of Christ, and piously making the sign of the cross, they labored 01:14.280 --> 01:18.500 mightily to satisfy their lust for power and pleasure and wealth. 01:19.340 --> 01:24.480 No justification for making themselves the absolute and infallible rulers over the 01:24.480 --> 01:29.500 church, much less the world, could be found in the writings of the early 01:29.500 --> 01:31.560 fathers, and certainly not in Scripture. 01:32.540 --> 01:34.940 Therefore the popes had to find other support. 01:35.500 --> 01:43.040 The means they chose was to rewrite history by manufacturing allegedly 01:43.040 --> 01:45.020 historical documents. 01:45.700 --> 01:50.860 The first of these bold forgeries was called the Donation of Constantine, 01:51.360 --> 01:52.940 which we've already mentioned. 01:53.660 --> 02:00.100 It was followed by pseudo-Isidorian decretals, which were early papal decrees 02:00.100 --> 02:05.940 allegedly compiled by Archbishop Isidor, who lived from 560 A.D. 02:05.960 --> 02:11.620 to 636 A.D., but actually were fabricated in the 9th century. 02:12.540 --> 02:18.400 These frauds became the foundation for much quote-unquote tradition still relied 02:18.400 --> 02:20.540 upon by the Roman Catholic Church today. 02:21.580 --> 02:25.980 Now these are abject forgeries, they're known forgeries, they're admitted 02:25.980 --> 02:32.260 forgeries by Roman Catholic historians, yet they still form the basis for the 02:32.260 --> 02:36.680 temporal and spiritual power of the pope over the whole world. 02:38.340 --> 02:45.340 And I made mention that I hope my listeners will take some time during the 02:45.340 --> 02:50.800 so-called holiday and do a little of their own research into the Donation of 02:50.800 --> 02:56.740 Constantine and the Isidorian decretals to see for themselves what a rickety 02:56.740 --> 02:59.960 foundation it is that holds up the papal chair. 03:01.260 --> 03:05.800 Now continuing where we left off, Catholic historian J. 03:05.840 --> 03:06.100 H. 03:06.200 --> 03:12.720 Ignaz von Dollinger writes that prior, quote, to the time of the Isidorian 03:12.720 --> 03:18.800 decretals, no serious attempt was made anywhere to introduce the Neo-Roman theory 03:18.800 --> 03:20.480 of infallibility. 03:20.480 --> 03:25.680 The popes did not dream of laying claim to such a privilege, unquote. 03:26.660 --> 03:33.840 But prior to the Isidorian decretals, no pope dared to assert to itself the 03:33.840 --> 03:36.340 divine prerogative of infallibility. 03:36.820 --> 03:38.600 There was no support for it. 03:39.280 --> 03:42.640 They had to make support for papal infallibility. 03:43.060 --> 03:48.700 They had to create it, conjure it from thin air, and that's what they did with 03:48.700 --> 03:49.500 these forgeries. 03:49.500 --> 03:56.720 Now he goes on to explain that these fraudulent decretals, quote, gradually but 03:56.720 --> 04:01.560 surely changed the whole constitution and government of the church. 04:02.080 --> 04:08.660 It would be difficult to find in all history a second instance of so successful 04:08.660 --> 04:11.640 and yet so clumsy a forgery. 04:11.640 --> 04:19.620 For three centuries past, and remember he was writing in 1869, for three centuries 04:19.620 --> 04:24.920 past, the fabrication, that is the donation of Constantine, the 04:24.920 --> 04:28.460 pseudo-Isidorian decretal, has been exposed. 04:28.920 --> 04:34.660 Yet the principles it introduced and brought into practice have taken such deep 04:34.660 --> 04:40.860 root in the soil of the church and have so grown into her life that the exposure of 04:40.860 --> 04:46.060 the fraud has produced no results in shaking that dominant system, unquote. 04:47.080 --> 04:53.340 So even though they were exposed and admitted as frauds, they were so deeply 04:53.340 --> 04:57.600 woven into the fabric of the Roman Catholic Church that the Roman Catholic 04:57.600 --> 05:02.320 Church just continued upon those frauds as though they were fact. 05:02.320 --> 05:04.680 And that's the case today. 05:05.700 --> 05:10.740 Now the pseudo-Isidorian decretals involved about a hundred concocted decrees 05:10.740 --> 05:16.400 allegedly promulgated by the earliest popes, along with counterfeit writings of 05:16.400 --> 05:18.600 supposed church authorities and synods. 05:19.520 --> 05:23.940 They literally had to fabricate the early years of the Roman Catholic Church. 05:24.720 --> 05:30.900 It says these fabrications were just what Nicholas I, who lived from 859 to 867, 05:31.440 --> 05:41.640 excuse me, who reigned as pope from 858 to 867 AD, needed to justify his claims that 05:41.640 --> 05:47.660 the popes, quote, held the place of God on earth, unquote, with absolute authority 05:47.660 --> 05:53.480 over kings, including even the right to, quote, command massacres, unquote, 05:53.880 --> 05:57.900 of those who opposed them, all in the name of Christ. 05:58.880 --> 06:03.260 The popes who followed Nicholas were only too happy to emulate his ways, 06:03.680 --> 06:10.200 and each of them used his predecessor's actions to justify his own, thus building 06:10.200 --> 06:15.880 an ever larger case for infallibility, but upon a fraudulent foundation. 06:16.820 --> 06:20.620 Writing in the 19th century, church historian R.W. 06:20.700 --> 06:28.780 Thompson, himself a Catholic, says Dave Hunt, comments, quote, such times as these 06:28.780 --> 06:33.840 were adapted to the practice of any kind of imposture and fraud, which the popes 06:33.840 --> 06:38.360 and the clergy considered necessary to strengthen the authority of the papacy. 06:38.360 --> 06:44.420 The personal interest and ambition of Innocent III led him to preserve all these 06:44.420 --> 06:50.020 forgeries with care, so that the, quote, unquote, pious fraud might become 06:50.020 --> 06:51.740 sanctified by time. 06:52.480 --> 06:56.020 The result, he hoped and sought for, has been accomplished. 06:57.040 --> 07:01.180 These false decretals, which are now universally considered to have been bold 07:01.180 --> 07:06.910 and unblushing forgeries, constitute the cornerstone of that enormous system of 07:06.910 --> 07:12.970 wrong and usurpation, which has since been built up by the papacy, to revive which 07:12.970 --> 07:17.710 Pope Pius IX has now put forth in his encyclical and syllabus of errors, 07:18.430 --> 07:18.930 unquote. 07:19.770 --> 07:23.770 Devout Catholics should be shocked to learn that much of the, quote, 07:23.790 --> 07:29.170 unquote, apostolic tradition they have been told supports Roman Catholicism, 07:29.170 --> 07:35.110 and is to be regarded upon the same level as Scripture itself, was actually a 07:35.110 --> 07:37.730 deliberately manufactured fraud. 07:38.650 --> 07:43.030 The doctrines built upon these forgeries became so interwoven into Roman 07:43.030 --> 07:49.090 Catholicism, that even after the hopes was exposed, the popes were reluctant to make 07:49.090 --> 07:50.530 the necessary corrections. 07:51.630 --> 07:55.270 Pope after infallible pope endorsed the counterfeit. 07:55.270 --> 08:02.090 To make a clean break from centuries of accumulated lies would tear apart the very 08:02.090 --> 08:04.750 fabric of the Roman Catholic Church. 08:05.790 --> 08:11.370 Pope Pius IX relied upon the fraud, though it had already been exposed for 08:11.370 --> 08:16.570 three centuries, to build his case for pressuring the bishops to make papal 08:16.570 --> 08:21.090 infallibility an official dogma at Vatican Council I. 08:21.090 --> 08:27.830 But the testimony of history conclusively refutes both apostolic succession and 08:27.830 --> 08:29.890 papal infallibility. 08:30.990 --> 08:32.250 What a pretension. 08:33.270 --> 08:34.370 What a fraud. 08:35.210 --> 08:36.110 The papacy. 08:36.990 --> 08:45.610 And history has made it such that it is absurd to maintain this fraud any longer. 08:46.370 --> 08:51.350 And it is almost like God is making a mockery of the papacy. 08:51.930 --> 08:53.710 And I believe he is. 08:54.350 --> 08:56.110 And we should take heed. 08:57.030 --> 09:01.330 Now the next chapter, chapter 8, is entitled, Unbroken Line of Papal 09:01.330 --> 09:02.070 Succession? 09:03.330 --> 09:08.210 Is there really an unbroken line of apostolic succession? 09:09.070 --> 09:12.750 Obviously, if you have been paying any attention to this book, there is no 09:12.750 --> 09:15.790 apostolic succession at all in the papacy. 09:16.710 --> 09:21.150 And this chapter begins with a quote from Vatican Council II. 09:21.970 --> 09:28.810 Quote, This is the sole Church of Christ, which in the Creed we profess to be one, 09:29.130 --> 09:34.610 holy, Catholic, and apostolic, which our Savior, after his resurrection, 09:34.890 --> 09:42.650 entrusted to Peter's pastoral care, commissioning him and the other apostles 09:42.650 --> 09:45.070 to extend and rule it. 09:45.070 --> 09:51.590 The Roman pontiff, as the successor of Peter, is the perpetual and visual source 09:51.590 --> 09:58.270 and foundation of the unity both of the bishops and of the whole company of the 09:58.270 --> 09:58.710 faithful. 09:59.530 --> 10:00.030 Unquote. 10:00.790 --> 10:06.150 So Vatican Council II establishes the papacy as the vicar of Christ, 10:06.250 --> 10:08.270 the replacement of the Son of God on earth. 10:09.010 --> 10:12.310 She cannot let loose of that papal pretension. 10:12.310 --> 10:15.070 Or she ceases to be antichrist. 10:15.230 --> 10:21.150 She ceases to fulfill the prophecies that God revealed in his Bible that would be 10:21.150 --> 10:23.250 the prerogative of the Roman Catholic Church. 10:23.850 --> 10:27.370 Now, what about this unbroken line of apostolic succession? 10:28.150 --> 10:31.970 The claim that the popes are the successors of the apostle Peter is the 10:31.970 --> 10:37.170 cornerstone of Roman Catholicism, without which that church would lose its 10:37.170 --> 10:39.670 uniqueness and could not function. 10:39.670 --> 10:44.330 We must therefore spend further time to examine this claim carefully. 10:45.370 --> 10:50.250 Is there actually an unbroken line of 262 popes succeeding Peter? 10:51.290 --> 10:56.310 And as of the writing of this book, Pope John Paul II was the pope, 10:56.430 --> 11:00.450 so there have been now 264 popes. 11:01.290 --> 11:08.790 Now, it says for apostolic succession to occur, each pope must choose his own 11:08.790 --> 11:14.010 successor and personally lay hands on him and ordain him. 11:14.830 --> 11:18.930 This was the procedure when Paul and Barnabas were set forth by the church at 11:18.930 --> 11:21.110 Antioch on their first missionary journey. 11:21.650 --> 11:23.710 See Acts chapter 13 verse 3. 11:24.550 --> 11:29.430 Timothy's appointment to the ministry was also by the elders laying hands upon him. 11:29.430 --> 11:32.170 See 1 Timothy chapter 4 verse 14. 11:32.650 --> 11:37.350 As did Paul when he imparted a special spiritual gift to Timothy. 11:37.550 --> 11:40.890 See 2 Timothy chapter 1 verse 6. 11:41.690 --> 11:46.890 This biblical procedure, however, has never been followed with regard to 11:46.890 --> 11:49.870 successors of the Bishop of Rome or the popes. 11:50.330 --> 11:56.230 A pope's successor is chosen not by him, but after his death by others. 11:56.230 --> 12:02.450 And it has most often been done in the most ungodly manner, as we shall see. 12:03.270 --> 12:08.090 Furthermore, there is no record that Peter was ever Bishop of Rome, and therefore no 12:08.090 --> 12:10.530 Bishop of Rome could possibly be his successor. 12:11.850 --> 12:18.750 Irenaeus, Bishop of Lyons from 178 to 200 AD, provided a list of the first twelve 12:18.750 --> 12:19.790 bishops of Rome. 12:20.770 --> 12:22.230 Linus was the first. 12:23.150 --> 12:25.010 Peter's name does not even appear. 12:26.130 --> 12:31.690 Eusebius of Caesarea, the father of church history as he is called, never mentions 12:31.690 --> 12:33.270 Peter as Bishop of Rome. 12:33.730 --> 12:38.750 He simply says that, quote, Peter came to Rome about the end of his days, 12:39.090 --> 12:41.250 unquote, and was crucified there. 12:42.170 --> 12:46.830 Wonder which Peter that was, and I think for the answer of that we can go to Simon 12:46.830 --> 12:48.090 Peter vs. 12:48.310 --> 12:49.610 Simon the Sorcerer. 12:49.810 --> 12:58.010 You'll find it on my old webpages at inquisitionupdate.org Who was the Peter 12:58.010 --> 13:00.010 that was crucified upside down? 13:00.210 --> 13:02.070 It was not the Apostle Peter. 13:02.670 --> 13:08.710 It was another man, also known as Simon Peter. 13:08.710 --> 13:14.630 It was Simon Magus, the false apostle. 13:15.630 --> 13:22.110 Now, Paul, in writing his epistle to the Romans, greets many people by name, 13:22.310 --> 13:24.230 but he never mentions Peter. 13:24.910 --> 13:29.950 That would be a strange omission if Peter had been living in Rome, and especially if 13:29.950 --> 13:32.170 he were its Bishop, would it not? 13:32.990 --> 13:37.990 How is it that when Paul wrote his letter from Rome, he never mentioned Peter, 13:38.190 --> 13:42.290 if in fact Peter had been the Pope, the first Bishop of Rome? 13:43.050 --> 13:44.130 Simply not tenable. 13:45.050 --> 13:51.350 Rome is embarrassed to be able to explain why the Apostle Paul never mentions Peter 13:51.350 --> 13:54.730 in all of those that he greeted in his letters. 13:56.670 --> 14:03.750 Now, discussing certain missing links in this so-called unbroken line of papal 14:03.750 --> 14:09.870 succession, Dave says, the Vatican puts out an official list of the Popes, 14:10.650 --> 14:14.630 arbitrarily beginning with Peter and continuing to the present. 14:15.470 --> 14:19.210 There have been several such lists, which were apparently considered accurate 14:19.210 --> 14:22.990 at one time, but subsequently had to be revised. 14:22.990 --> 14:25.950 And now they conflict with each other. 14:26.330 --> 14:26.790 Do tell. 14:27.410 --> 14:33.490 The earliest lists come from Liber Pontificalis, in other words, the Book of 14:33.490 --> 14:34.090 the Popes. 14:34.930 --> 14:39.830 Presumably first composed under Pope Hormistus. 14:40.730 --> 14:41.430 Excuse me. 14:42.430 --> 14:51.450 The earliest lists of these Popes comes from a work entitled Liber Pontificalis, 14:51.530 --> 14:52.770 or Book of the Popes. 14:53.450 --> 15:00.290 Presumably first composed under Pope Hormistus of 514 to 523 A.D. 15:01.050 --> 15:05.890 Yet even the Roman Catholic Encyclopedia cast doubt upon its authenticity. 15:06.680 --> 15:11.930 And most scholars today agree that it mixed fact with fiction. 15:12.890 --> 15:17.530 Who the actual bishops of Rome were cannot be known with any certainty at this late 15:17.530 --> 15:17.970 date. 15:18.590 --> 15:22.670 Even the new Catholic Encyclopedia published by the Catholic University of 15:22.670 --> 15:24.510 America acknowledges this fact. 15:24.510 --> 15:31.950 But it must be frankly admitted that bias or deficiencies in the sources make it 15:31.950 --> 15:36.730 impossible to determine in certain cases whether the claimants were Popes or 15:36.730 --> 15:37.650 Anti-Popes. 15:39.010 --> 15:43.290 The simple truth is that the Roman Catholic Church itself, with all of its 15:43.290 --> 15:48.410 archives, cannot verify an accurate and complete list of the Popes. 15:48.410 --> 15:55.630 The alleged so-called unbroken line of succession back to Peter is therefore a 15:55.630 --> 15:56.410 mere fiction. 15:57.350 --> 16:01.730 Anyone who takes the time to seriously attempt a verification of its accuracy 16:01.730 --> 16:10.810 will conclude that the Church has fabricated an official list of Popes in 16:10.810 --> 16:14.270 order to justify the papacy and its pretensions. 16:14.270 --> 16:20.110 Nor was the Bishop of Rome considered to be the Pope of the Universal Church until 16:20.110 --> 16:23.390 about a thousand years after Pentecost. 16:24.030 --> 16:26.570 What about this apostolic succession? 16:27.650 --> 16:32.570 For centuries, the citizens of Rome considered it their right to elect the 16:32.570 --> 16:33.710 Bishop of Rome. 16:34.110 --> 16:39.250 This custom is proof that the Bishop of Rome had jurisdiction only over that 16:39.250 --> 16:39.970 territory. 16:40.690 --> 16:46.250 For if he had jurisdiction over the whole Church, then all of the Church would have 16:46.250 --> 16:48.150 been involved in choosing him. 16:48.310 --> 16:52.510 As it is today, says Dave Hunt, and I would love if Dave Hunt were alive 16:52.510 --> 16:57.910 today, to call him up and ask him how he includes the words, as it is today, 16:58.250 --> 17:04.230 when he knows full, good, and well that the whole Church does not choose the 17:04.230 --> 17:06.450 Popes, the College of Cardinals does. 17:06.450 --> 17:11.770 It just must have been a lapse of his attention when he wrote this portion of 17:11.770 --> 17:12.290 the chapter. 17:12.450 --> 17:16.350 We'll just ignore it as an anomaly and continue. 17:17.110 --> 17:21.450 It says, when at times the right to elect their own Bishop was denied them, 17:22.170 --> 17:27.370 the citizens of Rome revolted and forced their will upon the local civil and 17:27.370 --> 17:28.390 religious authorities. 17:28.390 --> 17:35.050 How could such pressure by mob violence be called apostolic succession by the 17:35.050 --> 17:36.450 direction of the Holy Spirit? 17:37.590 --> 17:43.210 Feuds were carried on between powerful families, the Colonna family, the Orsini 17:43.210 --> 17:49.050 family, the Annibaldi, the Conti, and the Seitani families, et al., 17:49.050 --> 17:52.750 who fought wars for the papacy for centuries. 17:52.750 --> 18:00.050 For example, Pope Boniface VIII, a Seitani, had to battle the Colonna 18:00.050 --> 18:01.870 family to remain in power. 18:02.510 --> 18:07.110 At the height of his success, he had all the Western Christendom coming to Rome for 18:07.110 --> 18:10.590 the great Jubilee of the year 1300 A.D. 18:11.030 --> 18:18.930 But in 1303, he was seized by emissaries of Philip the Fair of France, and Rome 18:18.930 --> 18:21.150 fell into French possession. 18:21.150 --> 18:28.050 As a consequence, the papacy was moved to France, and from 1309 to 1377, 18:28.770 --> 18:33.530 the popes were French and resided at Avignon in France. 18:34.470 --> 18:39.550 Such political maneuverings could hardly constitute apostolic succession. 18:40.470 --> 18:46.530 Popes were both installed and deposed by imperial armies or Roman mobs. 18:46.530 --> 18:48.290 Some were murdered. 18:49.210 --> 18:53.490 More than one pope was executed by a jealous husband who found him in bed with 18:53.490 --> 18:54.070 his wife. 18:54.890 --> 18:56.790 Hardly apostolic succession. 18:57.810 --> 19:02.930 Money and or violence most often determined who would be so-called Peter's 19:02.930 --> 19:03.430 successor. 19:04.230 --> 19:09.930 No wonder that in the Concordat of Worms, between Pope Callixtus II and the Emperor 19:09.930 --> 19:16.090 Henry V, dated September 23, 1122, the pope was made to swear that the 19:16.090 --> 19:21.830 election of bishops and abbots would take place, quote, without simony and without 19:21.830 --> 19:26.550 any violence, unquote, which all too often decided church affairs. 19:27.390 --> 19:31.990 Look, if there was any such thing as apostolic succession, would it be 19:31.990 --> 19:38.810 necessary to warn the popes not to allow simony or war and violence to have 19:38.810 --> 19:42.110 anything to do with the election of church prelates? 19:43.770 --> 19:49.710 It's a den of thieves, a den of robbers, a den of pretenders, a den of antichrists. 19:50.450 --> 19:54.910 No papal succession, no apostolic succession involved. 19:55.390 --> 19:57.950 They've made a mockery of their own tenets. 19:58.650 --> 20:01.050 They've made a mockery of their own faces. 20:01.530 --> 20:03.870 And God has exposed them for what they are. 20:04.470 --> 20:10.630 We should let history decide what is the truth about the Roman Catholic Church, 20:10.770 --> 20:14.710 and about the popes, and about the bishops, and the priests, and the 20:14.710 --> 20:15.230 cardinals. 20:16.050 --> 20:18.930 An open mockery before the world. 20:19.890 --> 20:23.870 At times there were several rivals, each claiming to have been legally voted 20:23.870 --> 20:25.790 in by a legitimate council. 20:26.710 --> 20:31.150 One of the earliest examples of multiple popes was created by the simultaneous 20:31.150 --> 20:38.910 election by rival factions of Popes Yersinus and Damasus. 20:39.730 --> 20:45.150 The former's followers managed, after much violence, to install him as 20:45.150 --> 20:45.470 pope. 20:46.250 --> 20:51.130 Later, after a bloody three-day battle, Damasus, with the backing of the emperor, 20:51.690 --> 20:59.110 emerged the victor and continued as vicar of Christ for eighteen years, from 366 to 20:59.110 --> 21:00.510 384 A.D. 21:01.240 --> 21:09.570 So, apostolic succession, by an unbroken line from Peter, operated by force? 21:10.490 --> 21:11.090 Really? 21:11.810 --> 21:12.810 Says Dave Hunt. 21:14.010 --> 21:18.190 Ironically, Damasus was the first who in 382 A.D. 21:19.110 --> 21:25.530 used the phrase, quote, Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, 21:25.690 --> 21:29.050 unquote, to claim supreme spiritual authority. 21:29.930 --> 21:36.730 Bloody, wealthy, powerful, and exceedingly corrupt, Damasus surrounded himself with 21:36.730 --> 21:39.530 luxuries that would have made an emperor blush. 21:40.410 --> 21:46.230 There's no way to justify any connection between him and Christ, yet he remains one 21:46.230 --> 21:51.990 link in that unbroken chain of succession back to the apostle Peter. 21:52.870 --> 21:58.050 Violence, intrigue, and simony defines the Roman Catholic Church. 21:58.830 --> 22:05.630 Pope Stephen VII, who reigned from 896 to 897, who exhumed Pope Formosus and 22:05.630 --> 22:12.570 condemned the corpse for heresy at a mock trial, was soon thereafter strangled by 22:12.570 --> 22:13.970 zealots who opposed him. 22:14.690 --> 22:20.170 His party promptly elected a Cardinal Sergius to be pope, but he was chased out 22:20.170 --> 22:26.570 of Rome by a rival faction which had elected Romanus as its vicar of Christ. 22:27.470 --> 22:31.670 Of the strange manner in which popes followed one another in this supposed 22:31.670 --> 22:37.950 unbroken line of apostolic succession from Peter, one historian writes, quote, 22:38.790 --> 22:43.490 Over the next twelve months, four more popes scrambled onto the blood-stained 22:43.490 --> 22:48.930 papal throne, maintaining themselves precariously for a few weeks and even days 22:48.930 --> 22:53.050 before being hurled themselves into their graves. 22:54.090 --> 22:59.570 We'll talk more about this so-called apostolic succession, the papacy, 22:59.670 --> 23:00.950 when we get back from the break. 23:01.030 24:00.500 When it comes to prophecy today, much of the evangelical Christian world 24:00.500 --> 24:05.080 has their eyes on Israel, waiting and watching to see when the third temple will 24:05.080 --> 24:05.920 begin to be built. 24:06.520 --> 24:07.680 The plans are drawn. 24:07.800 --> 24:09.120 The Jewish people are eager. 24:09.720 --> 24:13.460 Most evangelical Christians today believe that the rapture will happen before the 24:13.460 --> 24:14.420 third temple is built. 24:14.920 --> 24:16.380 Hi, I'm Michael Eugene. 24:16.880 --> 24:19.580 I was taught that Daniel's 70th week was in the future. 24:20.160 --> 24:21.820 Is that really what the Bible teaches? 24:22.440 --> 24:25.460 Have we searched the scriptures and found this to be true? 24:25.460 --> 24:29.780 Why is it so important for a re-established Israel to build a third 24:29.780 --> 24:30.660 temple in Jerusalem? 24:31.360 --> 24:35.860 Is it necessary to build a temple on the same location already occupied by the Dome 24:35.860 --> 24:36.340 of the Rock? 24:36.800 --> 24:40.900 Is it necessary for sacrifices to take place in the temple on Temple Mount? 24:41.520 --> 24:44.700 Is there really a rapture followed by seven years of tribulation? 24:45.520 --> 24:46.960 What is the New Testament temple? 24:47.800 --> 24:49.920 Can we identify history and prophecy? 24:50.940 --> 24:53.700 Who is the first beast in Revelation chapter 13? 24:53.700 --> 24:56.960 Who are the seven kings in Revelation 17? 24:57.700 --> 25:01.280 I have asked all these questions and I have found Nicholas Arthur's new book, 25:01.700 --> 25:06.140 When the Third Temple is Built, answers all these questions and more using 25:06.140 --> 25:07.740 scripture to interpret scripture. 25:08.480 --> 25:11.840 The Bible says that no prophecy of scripture is of any private 25:11.840 --> 25:12.580 interpretation. 25:13.420 --> 25:16.300 Nicholas shows us in his new book, When the Third Temple is Built, 25:16.740 --> 25:20.940 how the Bible interprets prophecy and not man's private interpretation. 25:21.940 --> 25:31.060 Visit crosstheborder.org to get your print, e-pub or pdf version of Nicholas 25:31.060 --> 25:34.300 Arthur's new book titled, When the Third Temple is Built. 25:34.680 --> 25:36.420 That's crosstheborder.org. 25:38.580 --> 25:44.840 The book of Revelation says the spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus Christ. 25:45.200 --> 25:48.900 This is at the very heart of firstamendmentradio.com. 25:48.900 --> 25:54.420 In that spirit, we have created the Prophecy Reality News app for all of your or rather begin at the beginning of 27:30.690 --> 27:31.110 the quote. 27:32.010 --> 27:38.710 This is just one of a multitude of examples how God has used history to mock 27:38.710 --> 27:41.790 this so-called Vicar of Christ. 27:42.390 --> 27:45.790 You see, God does not deal treacherously with His people. 27:45.950 --> 27:50.050 He wants us to know who Antichrist is, just as much as He wants us to know who 27:50.050 --> 27:51.290 Jesus Christ is. 27:52.150 --> 27:54.150 There's no excuse for us to be deceived. 27:54.150 --> 28:00.110 Anyone who is watching unto prayer can recognize Antichrist all throughout 28:00.110 --> 28:11.010 history, and God's intent, God's purposeful exposure of the papacy 28:11.010 --> 28:12.350 throughout history. 28:12.350 --> 28:17.650 Again, the quote says... 28:29.670 --> 28:35.250 Now, does this sound like apostolic succession to you? 28:35.930 --> 28:38.050 Does this sound like divine appointment? 28:38.550 --> 28:42.530 Does this sound like the vicar, the replacement of the Son of God on 28:42.530 --> 28:42.710 earth? 28:42.850 --> 28:48.430 Does God have anything to do with the papacy whatsoever, other than to expose it 28:48.430 --> 28:51.450 as a gigantic fraud that it is? 28:52.330 --> 28:54.390 Continuing with the quote, it says... 29:08.050 --> 29:11.630 ...who saw a means of thereby gaining entry into Rome. 29:12.390 --> 29:18.790 The reigning Pope at that time, Leo V in 903 A.D., found his grave. 29:19.390 --> 29:25.250 The slaughters in the city reached a climax, and then Cardinal Sergius emerged 29:25.250 --> 29:36.330 as Pope Sergius III from 904 to 911 A.D., the sole survivor of the claimants, 29:36.330 --> 29:38.490 and now Supreme Pontiff. 29:39.170 --> 29:43.030 Is this how Christ would appoint his successors? 29:43.630 --> 29:50.630 By lining up seven candidates and fighting to the death of the best man when? 29:51.450 --> 29:53.210 Is that Jesus Christ? 29:54.050 --> 30:00.390 Again, I assert that this is just one of a multitude of examples throughout history 30:00.390 --> 30:07.390 where God has made an open mockery of the papacy, showing it for the fraud that it 30:07.390 --> 30:11.750 is, showing it for the anti-Christ that it is. 30:12.690 --> 30:14.430 And we should not be deceived. 30:16.290 --> 30:19.330 Dave continues, he says... 30:19.330 --> 30:26.170 Attempting to establish stability in selecting Popes, in 1059, Nicholas II, 30:26.770 --> 30:33.990 who reigned from 1059 to 1061, defined the role of the cardinals in papal 30:33.990 --> 30:35.390 electoral process. 30:35.870 --> 30:42.770 During the Third Lateran Council in 1179, Alexander III, who reigned from 1159 to 30:42.770 --> 30:47.030 1181, restricted papal elections to the cardinals. 30:47.910 --> 30:53.930 So in order to stop the bloodshed and the intrigue and the simony and the corruption 30:53.930 --> 30:58.970 of the papal elections, they took it out of the hands of the people and dedicated 30:58.970 --> 31:00.570 it to the College of Cardinals. 31:01.370 --> 31:05.490 This was long after the first millennium. 31:06.270 --> 31:09.650 It says, quote, it was hardly an improvement. 31:10.330 --> 31:16.930 As one 19th century historian pointed out, quote, few papal elections, if any, 31:17.070 --> 31:19.910 have been other than simoniacal. 31:20.050 --> 31:22.330 That is, they were bought for money. 31:22.330 --> 31:27.470 The intention of the Sacred College of Cardinals has been, on the whole, 31:28.090 --> 31:31.470 perhaps the most fertile source of corruption in the Church. 31:32.450 --> 31:36.510 Many cardinals went to Rome for the conclave with their bankers. 31:37.330 --> 31:37.790 Unquote. 31:38.530 --> 31:44.730 Yes, when it came time to elect, no, no, no, rather correctly, as the Roman 31:44.730 --> 31:51.910 Catholic Church teaches, in order for the Holy Spirit to select the next Pope, 31:51.910 --> 31:59.790 the cardinals went to the conclave with their bankers in tow. 32:00.530 --> 32:04.490 I wonder if the bankers were led by the Holy Spirit. 32:05.470 --> 32:09.630 They bought and sold their offices to the highest bidder. 32:10.290 --> 32:16.110 Those who could produce the most money, make the most bribes, threaten the most 32:16.110 --> 32:19.470 bloodshed, eventually rose to the papacy. 32:19.470 --> 32:27.910 Again, God making an open mockery of this so-called Vicar of Christ, the Antichrist, 32:28.450 --> 32:29.790 the Pope of Rome. 32:30.650 --> 32:35.670 Much insight into such corruption comes from the diaries of John Bacard, 32:36.670 --> 32:42.190 master of ceremonies at the conclave, that elected Rodrigo Borgia, one of the 32:42.190 --> 32:47.710 most wicked of all Popes, who called himself Pope Alexander VI, who reigned 32:47.710 --> 32:56.190 from 1492 to 1503, Bacard concludes that only five votes were not bought in that 32:56.190 --> 32:56.730 election. 32:57.530 --> 32:59.770 Only five votes were not bought. 32:59.910 --> 33:02.690 The rest were a product of simony. 33:03.510 --> 33:06.570 The bankers buying the office. 33:07.790 --> 33:13.310 Quote, the young Cardinal Giovanni de' Medici, who had refused to sell his vote, 33:14.110 --> 33:16.950 thought it prudent to leave Rome immediately. 33:17.370 --> 33:17.850 Unquote. 33:18.570 --> 33:23.650 In other words, we had one particular one of five who would not sell his vote, 33:24.270 --> 33:28.290 thought it best to just get out of Dodge before he got killed, right? 33:29.330 --> 33:32.010 Is that the Holy Spirit selecting the Pope? 33:32.590 --> 33:33.610 Not at all. 33:33.610 --> 33:37.990 In those days, a Cardinal's hat sold for a king's ransom. 33:38.930 --> 33:44.690 So it took a fortune to enter the polluted stream of so-called apostolic succession. 33:45.510 --> 33:49.790 Money flowed in from all over Europe to back favorite candidates. 33:50.770 --> 33:59.310 Borgia bought the papacy with villas, towns, and abbeys, and with four mule 33:59.310 --> 34:07.090 loads of silver to his greatest rival, Cardinal Sforza, to induce him to step 34:07.090 --> 34:07.610 down. 34:08.550 --> 34:08.990 Unquote. 34:09.850 --> 34:12.750 See what it cost to be Pope? 34:13.490 --> 34:15.270 Is this apostolic succession? 34:16.010 --> 34:23.490 That you have to buy the papacy by promising villas, and towns, and abbeys, 34:23.490 --> 34:31.010 and mule loads of silver, so that your greatest opponent will just step aside? 34:32.010 --> 34:34.410 Papal elections are bought and sold. 34:35.250 --> 34:37.090 And that's what they do to Christ, too. 34:37.790 --> 34:39.470 They buy him and sell him. 34:40.190 --> 34:43.290 There's no mistake in this world who Antichrist is. 34:44.090 --> 34:45.470 No one should be deceived. 34:46.310 --> 34:50.190 Here's a quote from Peter DeRosa in a book that we read here previously on 34:50.190 --> 34:51.210 Inquisition Update. 34:51.210 --> 34:53.670 Vickers of Christ, The Dark Side of the Papacy. 34:54.450 --> 35:00.050 Quote, It is instructive to see, by way of Bucard's diaries, how the Holy 35:00.050 --> 35:03.550 Spirit goes about choosing St. Peter's successor. 35:04.510 --> 35:04.970 Unquote. 35:05.750 --> 35:10.210 And that kind of sarcasm is well deserved of the papacy. 35:11.110 --> 35:17.830 Now, sex even got involved as payment to ascend to the papal chair. 35:17.830 --> 35:24.950 It says, Some popes were put in office by their mistresses, fixed by a mother and 35:24.950 --> 35:26.890 daughter pair of prostitutes. 35:27.870 --> 35:34.650 Theodora of Rome, the wife of a powerful Roman senator, was most successful at this 35:34.650 --> 35:35.290 strategy. 35:36.250 --> 35:40.530 She manipulated Roman politics by exploiting the fact that her daughter 35:40.530 --> 35:46.550 Meroza, Meroza, excuse me, was the mistress of Pope Sergius III. 35:46.550 --> 35:54.550 Known as the mistress of Rome, Meroza did not hesitate to murder to 35:54.550 --> 35:55.990 accomplish her ambitions. 35:57.470 --> 36:02.530 Theodora herself was mistress to two ecclesiastics whom she maneuvered in quick 36:02.530 --> 36:06.790 succession, after Sergius' death, into Peter's throne. 36:07.950 --> 36:16.990 Pope Anastasius III, who reigned from 911 to 913, and Pope Lando from 913 to 914. 36:17.910 --> 36:22.970 Falling in love with a priest from Ravina, she maneuvered him also onto the papal 36:22.970 --> 36:23.410 throne. 36:24.250 --> 36:29.710 That prostitutes determined who would be pope could hardly be apostolic succession. 36:30.730 --> 36:35.670 Of this remarkable mother and daughter, Edward Gibbon wrote in his Decline and 36:35.670 --> 36:42.110 Fall of the Roman Empire, The influences of two prostitutes, Meroza and Theodora, 36:42.550 --> 36:50.590 was founded on their wealth and beauty, their political and amorous intrigues. 36:51.450 --> 36:55.530 The most strenuous of their lovers were rewarded with the Roman mitre. 36:56.390 --> 37:00.850 The bastard son, the grandson, and the great grandson of Meroza, 37:01.210 --> 37:05.270 a rare genealogy, were seated in the chair of St. Peter. 37:05.270 --> 37:13.230 You see how God has made an open mockery, even that popes, the so-called vicars, 37:13.450 --> 37:18.690 replacements of Christ on earth, were put on their papal chair by 37:18.690 --> 37:21.470 prostitutes, by whores. 37:22.830 --> 37:25.030 Who could be deceived if they knew the truth? 37:25.870 --> 37:31.570 Who could be deceived about this cosmic pretension known as the papacy, 37:32.190 --> 37:39.370 after once hearing the truth about how God has exposed it as the fraud that it really 37:39.370 --> 37:39.910 is? 37:40.850 --> 37:47.850 Alberic, another of Meroza's sons, with his armed thugs, literally controlled 37:47.850 --> 37:48.390 Rome. 37:49.170 --> 37:53.930 He made the Roman leader swear to elect his son, Meroza's grandson, Octavian, 37:54.590 --> 37:59.530 not only as his successor to the imperial throne, but upon the death of the pope, 37:59.530 --> 38:02.750 to that supreme religious office as well. 38:03.730 --> 38:09.770 And so it happened that Octavian called himself Pope John XII, while at the same 38:09.770 --> 38:13.590 time retaining the name Octavian as prince. 38:14.510 --> 38:19.730 Thus both the civil and the ecclesiastical thrones were joined in one man. 38:20.570 --> 38:23.130 And that's a state of affairs that exists today. 38:23.350 --> 38:26.310 That was a tradition that has been upheld today. 38:26.310 --> 38:32.290 That's why the pope calls himself the king of kings and the lord of lords. 38:33.290 --> 38:38.990 He is both head and prince of the church, and he is both head and prince of the 38:38.990 --> 38:40.750 civil governments of the world. 38:41.670 --> 38:44.270 He is both king and priest. 38:45.130 --> 38:47.970 Those are offices that belong only to Christ. 38:48.910 --> 38:55.050 Therefore we only have one option to conclude that the papacy is antichrist. 38:55.770 --> 39:02.030 John XII, who reigned from 955 to 963, was obsessed with illicit sex, 39:02.070 --> 39:03.970 even more than he was with power. 39:04.830 --> 39:09.650 Though he had many regular mistresses, they were not enough. 39:10.490 --> 39:14.130 It was no longer safe for any woman to come into St. Peter's. 39:15.030 --> 39:21.050 Bishop Ludeprand of Cremona, papal observer and chronicler of the time, 39:21.050 --> 39:27.950 tells that the pope was so blindly in love with one particular mistress, that he made 39:27.950 --> 39:32.390 her governor of several cities, and even gave to her the golden crosses 39:32.390 --> 39:34.470 and cups of St. Peter himself. 39:36.010 --> 39:41.090 Roman mobs that had supported him and cared nothing about his amorous affairs, 39:41.450 --> 39:46.070 were angered by the loss of properties which Romans had looked upon as part of 39:46.070 --> 39:46.810 their heritage. 39:47.710 --> 39:53.150 Surrounded by mobs who were now eager to remove him, and besieged by the new king 39:53.150 --> 39:58.430 of Italy with his armies from without, Octavian abandoned his position as civil 39:58.430 --> 40:04.790 ruler, but would not give up the even more lucrative and influential papacy. 40:05.590 --> 40:10.130 Though he made no pretext of being a religious man at all, much less a true 40:10.130 --> 40:10.610 Christian. 40:11.250 --> 40:14.630 The papacy still had the power to crown emperors. 40:14.630 --> 40:20.130 So the pope summoned Otto, king of Germany and Europe's most powerful monarch, 40:20.550 --> 40:23.710 to Rome to be crowned emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. 40:24.750 --> 40:28.890 Otto came in haste with his armies to aid the besieged pontiff. 40:29.830 --> 40:36.250 After his coronation by John XII, Otto attempted to lecture the young pope 40:36.250 --> 40:37.770 about his dissolute life. 40:37.770 --> 40:43.710 John XII pretended to heed the advice, but after Otto and his armies had left, 40:44.350 --> 40:50.490 the pope, unwilling to abandon his sexual exploits, offered the imperial crown to 40:50.490 --> 40:58.990 Berenger, the very enemy whose armies had plundered northern Italy, and because of 40:58.990 --> 41:02.670 whose threats he had appealed to Otto in the first place. 41:03.510 --> 41:09.230 Tempted by the prize that was now dangling in front of him, Berenger nevertheless 41:09.230 --> 41:13.650 declined, knowing that his forces were no match for Otto's army. 41:14.330 --> 41:18.890 The frantic pope then appealed to everyone, from Saracens to Huns, 41:19.290 --> 41:23.730 to rescue him from the man he had just crowned emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, 41:23.730 --> 41:28.930 and with whom he had sworn to revive the ancient partnership between crown and 41:28.930 --> 41:34.790 papacy that had once worked so well between Leo III and Charlemagne. 41:35.170 --> 41:44.010 So there we have the popes relying upon weapons, armies, to sustain their title as 41:44.010 --> 41:45.030 Vicar of Christ. 41:45.830 --> 41:51.170 Is that an example of apostolic succession, or is that just another 41:51.170 --> 41:56.330 example of God's unrelenting exposure of the papacy for what it really is? 41:56.950 --> 42:00.110 Now, we're going to talk about papal musical chairs. 42:01.310 --> 42:07.130 When Otto returned with his army to settle accounts, John XII fled from Rome to 42:07.130 --> 42:11.690 Tivoli with what Vatican treasures he could carry. 42:11.690 --> 42:19.710 So he beat feet out of town, Otto's coming back, the pope gathers up all the gold and 42:19.710 --> 42:25.150 chalices, all the gold and silver he could carry, and beats it out of town. 42:26.070 --> 42:29.210 So much for apostolic succession, right? 42:30.450 --> 42:33.830 Otto opened a synod to decide John's fate. 42:34.830 --> 42:39.190 Bishop Ludprand presided in the emperor's name and recorded the proceedings. 42:40.310 --> 42:45.230 Witnesses were called, and the crimes of the pope established, from fornication 42:45.230 --> 42:50.510 with numerous women who were named, to blinding Benedict, his spiritual 42:50.510 --> 42:57.630 father, to the murder of a Cardinal John, to toasting Satan at St. Peter's altar. 42:58.250 --> 43:05.150 But before Otto could execute justice, Pope John XII was killed by a husband who 43:05.150 --> 43:09.730 found the unrepentant pontiff bedded with his wife. 43:10.310 --> 43:11.610 Justice, right? 43:14.390 --> 43:17.790 And this is called the Vicar of Christ? 43:18.690 --> 43:26.310 Yet, John XII is on the official Roman Catholic list of popes, each known as, 43:26.490 --> 43:30.890 quote, his holiness, Vicar of Christ, unquote. 43:31.690 --> 43:36.150 Not long after Otto's death in Germany, the papacy fell under the control of a 43:36.150 --> 43:39.210 powerful family of warlords in the Albany hills. 43:39.990 --> 43:47.170 The leader of the clan, Gregory of Tusculum, through wealth and the power of 43:47.170 --> 43:54.430 the sword, succeeded in placing two of his three sons and a grandson, one succeeding 43:54.430 --> 43:57.910 the other, on the supposed throne of St. Peter. 43:58.610 --> 44:04.930 The Alberics of Tusculum could eventually boast 40 cardinals, 3 antipopes, 44:05.310 --> 44:09.430 and 13 popes, issuing from that one single family. 44:10.290 --> 44:14.190 It would be a mockery to say that the wealth and power that produced this 44:14.190 --> 44:20.370 remarkable familial network of popes had anything to do with apostolic succession. 44:20.370 --> 44:26.490 Of this period, church historian Von Dolinger, himself a devout Roman Catholic, 44:26.830 --> 44:33.070 writes, quote, The Roman church was enslaved and degraded, while the apostolic 44:33.070 --> 44:38.590 seed became the prey and the plaything of rival factions of nobles, and for a long 44:38.590 --> 44:41.650 time, of ambitious and profligate women. 44:42.340 --> 44:47.590 It was only renovated for a brief interval between 997 A.D. 44:47.710 --> 44:49.030 and 1003 A.D. 44:49.430 --> 44:55.530 in the persons of Gregory V and Sylvester II, by the influence of the Saxon emperor. 44:56.530 --> 45:04.090 Then the papacy sank back into utter confusion and moral impotence. 45:04.090 --> 45:08.150 The Tuscan counts made it hereditary in their family. 45:08.670 --> 45:13.950 Again and again, dissolute boys like John XII, aged 16 when he became pope, 45:14.270 --> 45:20.530 and Benedict IX, at age 11, occupied and disgraced the apostolic throne, 45:20.670 --> 45:23.370 which is now bought and sold like a piece of merchandise. 45:24.370 --> 45:30.490 And at last, three popes fought for the tiara, until the emperor Henry III put an 45:30.490 --> 45:35.410 end to the scandal by elevating a German bishop to the sea of Rome. 45:36.230 --> 45:36.830 Unquote. 45:37.350 --> 45:38.090 That's right. 45:38.910 --> 45:44.870 Three so-called vicars of Christ, all vying for the papacy at the same time, 45:44.870 --> 45:51.330 all calling themselves popes, and all hurling anathemas, damnations, 45:51.610 --> 45:55.810 and calling one another antichrist at the same time. 45:56.350 --> 46:01.270 And as I always like to laugh and say, they were all correct. 46:01.950 --> 46:04.330 They were infallible in that description. 46:04.330 --> 46:12.330 Now chased by mobs from Rome in 1054, Pope Benedict IX, who reigned from 1032 to 46:12.330 --> 46:24.230 1044, and also in 1045, and then for the third time in 1047 to 1048, fled to the 46:24.230 --> 46:29.110 protection of his uncle, Count Gregory, whose army controlled the hill country of 46:29.110 --> 46:29.630 Tusculum. 46:29.630 --> 46:37.050 In his absence, John, Bishop of the Sabine Hills, entered Rome and installed himself 46:37.050 --> 46:43.150 as pope under the name Sylvester III in 1054, excuse me, 1045. 46:43.890 --> 46:50.590 He occupied the throne of Peter a mere three months, until Benedict stormed back 46:50.590 --> 46:55.050 with more swords that Sylvester could summon, and ruled as pope once again. 46:55.050 --> 47:00.590 Yet both of these men are on the official Vatican list of those considered worthy of 47:00.590 --> 47:04.430 the titles, His Holiness and Vicar of Christ. 47:05.370 --> 47:09.750 Tiring of the burdens of his office, and eager to devote himself entirely to 47:09.750 --> 47:15.370 his favorite lover, Benedict sold the papacy for 1,500 pounds of gold to his 47:15.370 --> 47:22.290 godfather, Giovanni Graziano, Archbishop of St. John's Church at the Latin Gate. 47:23.150 --> 47:29.130 Giovanni took over the papacy in May of 1045 under the name Pope Gregory VI. 47:29.950 --> 47:31.350 He reigned for one year. 47:32.330 --> 47:39.610 With fresh resolve, Benedict returned to Rome in 1047 and set himself up as pope 47:39.610 --> 47:40.350 once again. 47:41.190 --> 47:42.810 So did Sylvester III. 47:43.810 --> 47:48.630 Now there were three popes, each ruling over that portion of Rome which his 47:48.630 --> 47:55.050 private army controlled, each claiming to be the Vicar of Christ and possessors of 47:55.050 --> 47:59.130 the keys of heaven by virtue of apostolic succession. 48:00.090 --> 48:05.690 Growing weary of the charade, the disillusioned and angry Roman citizens 48:05.690 --> 48:07.870 appealed to Emperor Henry III. 48:07.870 --> 48:13.270 He marched into Rome with his army and presided over a synod that deposed all 48:13.270 --> 48:17.050 three popes and installed the Emperor's choice. 48:18.070 --> 48:20.010 He called himself Clement II. 48:20.950 --> 48:23.730 He reigned from 1046 to 1047. 48:24.670 --> 48:25.350 One year. 48:26.070 --> 48:29.010 But Benedict was not so easily dispatched. 48:29.810 --> 48:34.730 As soon as the imperial army withdrew, he returned to Rome and managed by force 48:34.730 --> 48:38.410 of arms to rule as pope for another eight months. 48:38.930 --> 48:44.510 Until Henry returned and chased him back to the Alban Hills for the last time. 48:45.310 --> 48:49.810 One would think that the Roman Catholic Church would be ashamed of such fiascos 48:49.810 --> 48:56.550 and blot out the memory of evil popes and their fraudulent and often violent means 48:56.550 --> 49:00.890 of gaining and losing and recovering the papal throne. 49:01.490 --> 49:05.770 Yet in spite of such godless rivalry, in the spite of the fact that their 49:05.770 --> 49:11.250 papacies overlapped at times, all three claiming to be pope at once, each of these 49:11.250 --> 49:17.070 adversarial claimants to Peter's throne is found on the Vatican's official list of 49:17.070 --> 49:17.870 popes today. 49:18.790 --> 49:21.930 And there's much more if you have your own copy of this book. 49:22.590 --> 49:26.830 There's much more about this type of history in the Roman Catholic Church in 49:26.830 --> 49:28.930 appendix D in the back of the book. 49:29.930 --> 49:38.550 Now, we'll just get started in chapter 9, entitled Infallible Heretics? 49:39.850 --> 49:44.770 This is an interesting chapter, and it begins with a quote from Pope 49:44.770 --> 49:52.550 Adrian VI, who reigned in 1523, right after or right during the beginnings 49:52.550 --> 49:54.210 of the Protestant Reformation. 49:54.910 --> 49:56.850 Here's a quote from Pope Adrian. 49:57.530 --> 49:58.250 He said, 50:14.770 --> 50:19.130 That's a quote from one of the so-called infallible popes. 50:19.670 --> 50:21.470 And it is true. 50:22.310 --> 50:23.890 Many of the popes were heretics. 50:24.890 --> 50:31.030 Which is an understatement in itself, because every pope is an antichrist, 50:31.790 --> 50:37.330 and a dynasty of antichrists, that encompasses the entire history of the 50:37.330 --> 50:41.670 Roman Catholic Church, even more so today than ever before. 50:42.370 --> 50:44.670 Now, what about these infallible heretics? 50:45.770 --> 50:46.430 Dave writes, 50:54.570 --> 50:58.330 when they speak on morals and dogma to the entire church. 50:58.730 --> 51:03.070 If they are not infallible, the Roman Catholic Church has lost its unique 51:03.070 --> 51:04.910 leadership and apostolic authority. 51:05.790 --> 51:10.830 I'll just close by saying, the Roman Catholic Church has no authority. 51:11.610 --> 51:12.850 Not from God. 51:13.690 --> 51:16.010 Therefore, it has no authority. 51:16.930 --> 51:18.910 It's the Church of Antichrist. 51:19.450 --> 51:23.450 The woman seated atop the beast of Revelation 17. 51:24.050 --> 51:27.330 We'll continue tomorrow on Inquisition Update. 53:26.490 --> 53:31.250 Corporate advertising dollars come with strings that limit program content. 53:31.850 --> 53:36.330 So without your help, these nation, the only 54:41.350 --> 54:43.530 kingdom that will last forever. 54:44.250 --> 54:45.530 Thank you for listening. 54:53.230 --> 54:58.930 Visit crosstheborder.org, C-R-O-S-S, 55:06.550 That's crosstheborder.org. 55:06.950 --> 55:10.630 When it comes to prophecy today, much of the Evangelical Christian world 55:10.630 --> 55:15.230 has their eyes on Israel, waiting and watching to see when the Third Temple will 55:15.230 --> 55:16.030 begin to be built. 55:16.030 --> 55:21.530 The plans are drawn, the Jewish people are eager, most Evangelical Christians today 55:21.530 --> 55:24.570 believe that the rapture will happen before the Third Temple is built. 55:24.810 --> 55:26.530 Hi, I'm Michael Eugene. 55:27.070 --> 55:29.710 I was taught that Daniel's 70th week was in the future. 55:30.330 --> 55:31.950 Is that really what the Bible teaches? 55:32.590 --> 55:35.570 Have we searched the scriptures and found this to be true? 55:36.210 --> 55:39.910 Why is it so important for a re-established Israel to build a Third 55:39.910 --> 55:40.750 Temple in Jerusalem? 55:40.750 --> 55:45.990 Is it necessary to build a Temple on the same location already occupied by the Dome 55:45.990 --> 55:46.470 of the Rock? 55:47.130 --> 55:51.030 Is it necessary for sacrifices to take place in the Temple on Temple Mount? 55:51.630 --> 55:54.830 Is there really a rapture followed by seven years of tribulation? 55:55.650 --> 55:57.090 What is the New Testament Temple? 55:57.890 --> 56:00.070 Can we identify history and prophecy? 56:01.130 --> 56:03.850 Who is the first beast in Revelation Chapter 13? 56:04.410 --> 56:07.070 Who are the seven kings in Revelation 17? 56:07.070 --> 56:11.430 I have asked all these questions and I have found Nicholas Arthur's new book, 56:12.010 --> 56:16.270 When the Third Temple is Built, answers all these questions and more using 56:16.270 --> 56:17.870 Scripture to interpret Scripture. 56:18.510 --> 56:21.990 The Bible says that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private 56:21.990 --> 56:22.710 interpretation. 56:23.550 --> 56:26.430 Nicholas shows us in his new book, When the Third Temple is Built, 56:26.750 --> 56:31.050 how the Bible interprets prophecy and not man's private interpretation. 56:31.870 --> 56:41.190 Visit CrossTheBorder.org to get your print, e-pub, or PDF version of Nicholas 56:41.190 -->
